Happy music news to end 2018

It's been a very merry musical end to 2018.

We were thrilled to find out a few weeks ago that we have been successful in our funding bid to Arts Council England for our project to offer free 'Music Production Taster sessions' for young people in the library in 2019.

See our September post 'Thank you for the Music(al) advice' for all the people who have helped us with our planning and bidding process- we can't thank you enough for your advice and support and patience whilst we have been bidding for funding. We look forward to working with you all very soon.

In the meantime, if you want to know more about the project, then please email us at barnsleylibraryenquiries@barnsley.gov.uk

Second bit of good news- we were surprised and delighted to be given a 'Proud Of Barnsley' Award at the Metrodome on 16 November, nominated by Councillor Linda Burgess as the 'Dementia Champion Award'. Many thanks to Barnsley Chronicle for recognising us amongst some amazing  Barnsley people and services.

We had a fantastic Christmas party with our Music and Memories Group and the Mayor came back to join in with some festive singing and dancing. Unfortunately we have no videos and photos of the event because we were having too much fun to do any filming. You'll just have to join us next year!

See the link @ Central Library for the dates for 2019. Come and join us.
