Live@TheLibrary

We were thrilled to have our first live music session at Central Library on Saturday 2 March, delivered by the brilliant guys from Rhythm Inc supported by local charity EnRich.

The event was organised by a local young musician in partnership with library staff, as a test event before we get into our fantastic new Library@theLightbox later this year.

Goodies for our performers

Barnsley has a really thriving music scene as will be showcased in June at Barnsley Live 2019 and has lots of inspiring young musicians, many who have been educated by the music departments in schools, through the Music Education Hub, and at higher levels through Barnsley College and University College Barnsley.

Thanks to all the local musicians who came down to our event and all the people who supported them. We are all looking forward to the next time. Also thanks to those who put up with a noisy 'Silent Study' area due to other events on the same day!

We really want to encourage more young people to have a go at organising their own band nights or open mic events, with our support, in our new Library@theLightbox which opens in July.
