Two Mayors, Thunder the Husky and a lot of cake

On October 9th, we had a brilliant time at Barnsley Central Library celebrating our Music and Memories group which has thrived over the last 12 months.

DJ Kipper started preparing his playlist early in the day...

We got the funding for the group from Councillor Linda Burgess when she was raising funds for dementia charities as Mayor in 2017.  So we invited Linda  as well as this year's Mayor, Councillor Steve Green to our first anniversary party.

As a special treat 'Thunder' the therapy husky came to visit as well. See their amazing facebook page: Therapy Huskies Barnsley

All ages enjoyed the singing and a kiss from Thunder.

Pat and the Mayor did some brilliant dancing to 'Runaround Sue' and lots of laughs, good music and cake were enjoyed by all.

Our first proper birthday bash was enjoyed by new members and regulars and the therapeutic benefits of music was obvious to see in their smiles.

Come and join in the fun with us at our next session. Sadly there will be no husky or Mayor, but we can promise you lots of laughs, support and good music.
